After tahoe we headed to lake Tahoe - the biggest alpine lake in North America.
It's located in Sierra Nevada mountains on the border of California and Nevada at the altitude of 1,900m.
During the winter it's a popular skiing resort, and a beach destination in the summer.
We got here in between seasons, so there were not a lot of tourists and very reasonably priced hotels.
We started our trip on a BMW cabrio, but after a few days its roof stopped working - we couldn't get it up.
We had to drive to Sacramento, where it was exchanged for a Dodge Challenger, not a cabrio this time :)
On the forest trail near to the lake we found an interesting plant - called Snow Flower.
Turns out it's a parasitic plant, it attaches to the roots of the trees and steals nutrients from them.
